Small river ferries across the Seine in Seine-Maritime, and a sea crossing from Granville, in the Manche, to the Chausey archipelago.
Downstream of Rouen, a handful of river ferries, known locally as bacs, carry traffic from one bank of the Seine to the other. The Seine-Maritime département runs them, publishes a timetable booklet for each edition and posts the live status of every crossing on its Inforoute 76 site. Walkers, cyclists and drivers board without a ticket.
Off the Manche coast, the Chausey islands are reached from the ferry terminal in Granville with Vedettes Jolie France. How many boats run depends heavily on the season, and a sailing can be cancelled if too few passengers book, so the page lists only the dates the company has published.
